What is Storybook Harvest?
Storybook Harvest is this year’s theme for our annual MWS Fall Festival, held in the school’s play yard. It’s a night where parents from our MWS community come together to put on a fun-filled event for students and families, featuring food, games, music, raffles, and more. The festival consists of multiple tents, each hosting a different activity or game.
Is there a cost to attend?
No — entry is free!
When and where is it?
October 16th, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, at Montessori Way school.
Do I need to RSVP?
Yes, please RSVP or confirm attendance via SignUpGenius so we can plan accordingly.
Is this a family-friendly event?
Yes! All ages are welcome, and you’re welcome to bring extended family and friends along too.
Costumes
Can I wear a costume?
Costumes are welcome but not required- but must be family friendly.
What counts as “family-friendly”?
Please avoid costumes with gore, blood, weapons of any kind (real or fake), excessive violence, or anything overly scary or inappropriate for young children. Keep it fun and appropriate for all ages, from toddlers to grandparents. Masks are not permitted — please choose face paint or makeup instead.
Food & Concessions
Will there be food?
Yes — concessions will be available for purchase, and pizza can be pre-ordered.
How do I pay for concessions?
Concessions are cashless — card/digital payment only.
How do I order pizza?
Pizza is available through pre-order only via Zeffy. Orders must be placed by October 13th at 8:00 AM — no orders accepted after that.
Is there a raffle?
Yes, a 50/50 raffle! Raffle tickets are cash only, so bring cash if you’d like to enter.
Volunteering
Can I volunteer?
Yes! Volunteer sign-ups are on SignUpGenius, with roles including:
• Set Up Crew – help set up tables, decorations, etc.
• Volunteer – Food Hand Out – hand out food and water
• Clean Up Crew – help break down and clean up after the event
• Concession Stand – help run concessions
• Large Cooler for Ice – bring a large cooler to help keep things cold
• 10×10 Pop-Up Tent with Activity – host a kid’s activity booth (see below)
What does hosting an activity tent involve?
Volunteers hosting a tent run their own activity or game — past examples include crafts, face painting, temporary tattoos, and carnival-style games. You’ll need to provide your own tent, activity/game materials, decorations, and any supplies your booth needs (bring extension cords if you need power).
Can multiple families host a tent together?
Yes! Families are welcome to team up and host a tent together, so everyone still gets a chance to enjoy the festival instead of being tied to the booth the whole time.
I don’t have a tent or table — can I still host an activity?
Yes! The Parent Association can help with things like a tent or table, but we need to know in advance so we can plan for it. Please reach out early if you’ll need this support.
Is there anything we can borrow for our booth?
We have a Pick-a-Duck game available to borrow if you’d like to use it for your activity tent.
Does this count as parent participation hours?
Yes, you will receive parent participation hours for volunteering at the festival.
I want to help but need some support — who do I contact?
Reach out to the MWS Parent Association — we’re happy to help!
A Friendly Reminder
This event is held on school grounds. Alcohol, drugs, tobacco, cigarettes, vaping/e-cigarettes, firearms, and other weapons are not permitted on premises. Pets are also not allowed, with the exception of service animals. This is a family event, and children must be supervised by their parents at all times.
