The MWS Parent Association runs programs throughout the school year that bring Montessori Way School families together and support students and teachers. Our events are educational in nature and designed to be free or low cost, so every family can take part. Here’s what we’re working on this school year.
Annual Fall Festival
Our biggest event of the fall is a family night in the school’s play yard, planned and staffed by parent volunteers, with food, games, music, and raffles. This year’s theme is Storybook Harvest, taking place October 16, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. Read the Storybook Harvest FAQ.
Family Movie Night
In December 2026, we’re hosting a family movie night for MWS students and their families. Check back soon for more details.
Winter Around the World Festival
In January 2027, students and families will explore how cultures around the globe celebrate the winter season. The festival reflects the Montessori emphasis on cultural studies and global citizenship.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Each year, we celebrate Montessori Way School’s teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week to thank them for the care and dedication they bring to our children every day.
Fundraising
We raise funds through community-friendly programs:
- Restaurant spirit nights: local businesses donate a portion of sales to the school. Our first was the Chuck E. Cheese FUNdraiser on September 25, 2026.
- Box Tops for Education: families earn money for the school by scanning grocery receipts in the Box Tops app. Our goal this year is $500. Learn how to participate.
Parent Volunteering
We help coordinate parent participation at the school, connecting families with volunteer opportunities at events and in support of classrooms. See Parent Participation Hours.
Parent Association Meetings
We hold regular meetings, in person at the school and online, where parents plan events and share ideas. All MWS families are welcome. Upcoming dates are listed on our Events page.
Where the Money Goes
2026–2027 is our first year as an incorporated nonprofit. Funds we raise this year go toward keeping our educational family events free or low cost and funding Teacher Appreciation Week. As we grow, we’ll share updates here on how funds are used to support Montessori Way School’s students and teachers.
